The Father's Vision

Recently my husband saw some people put their heart into their work, and he wanted to reward them for their hard work. He had mentioned it to me off-hand here and there, and while I was listening, I wasn't taking it to heart as important for me. That is until he started asking for help.

When I saw that he was asking me to get involved, my ears were 100% tuned toward his goal. He explained to me his vision, I asked clarifying questions, we weighed the pros and cons of various things, and ultimately came up with an idea that meant I would make it.

After putting James to bed, I got working on it. I was excited. I wanted to make his vision come to life. I stayed up until midnight, but I didn't even feel tired because I was enthralled with my task.

In the morning, before I even ate breakfast, I was still excited and got to working on it again. It consumed my thoughts and drove me forward in my day.

As I was creating this masterpiece for my husband, I realized that God wants us to be the same way with Him. He too has a vision for us to accomplish. He takes time to explain His desire to us, and then He waits for us to move ahead with His blessing.

I know that I've been given a few tasks, and I hope I'm faithful to complete them. I want to please my Father, and bring His vision into reality.

When I was reading the Word this morning, I came across a Scripture that said, "I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God." (Ecclesiastes 3:12-13) I believe this with all my heart.

I know that life can be toilsome. (Refer to Ecclesiastes chapter 1-3) However, in the toiling there can be great joy, because I know Whom I serve. And that is exactly how I felt as I created this award for Gordie's use.
