Turn Your Face
I don't know what things are like where you are, but for me, it's still winter. It's a hard winter too. I won't complain, because the Bible actually tells us not to do so. ("Do everything without complaining or arguing." Philippians 2:14 ICB)
This morning, while waiting for a bus in the bitter cold, I huddled in the shelter where you can sit down. I didn't do that, because I knew the metal seats would freeze my bum. ; ) However, I did see an electronic space heater. You push a button and the warmth falls from above.
Except, I couldn't feel it. I stood directly under it. Nothing. I moved as close to the bench as possible without sitting down. Nothing. I tried moving to the side. Nope. I put my back to it, hoping to feel it that way. Nada. Then, I looked up and turned my face directly toward it. Voila! The heat was incredible. I wasn't immediately defrosted, but I felt better.
As I was doing this, I thought of how the Bible tells us to turn our face toward God or Scriptures say to seek HIS face.
Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.
My heart says of you, “Seek His face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

This reminds me of my favorite flower-sunflowers. As they grow, they constantly follow where the sun is in the sky, moving with it. They know where the source of their strength comes from and so do I.
Lord, let me always be like a sunflower regarding You. May I always seek Your face.
